The weekend hasn’t ended yet, but it’s been quite intense so far!
On Friday, after my “čestinu lekce”, my classmate Darryl and I went to our weekly appointment on Riegrovy sady. Spain was applying with Arabia Saudi. We arrived for the second half; Spain was ahead with 1 goal. So we had the speciality of the house, “pivo a fotbal”. We were sharing table with a group of English that were on “bachelor weekend”. Apparently they took a plane back in Liverpool at 6a.m. and they had been drinking since that early hour. I was quite surprised that some of them could even speak! We met Darren (Darryl & Darren what a coincidence), a really nice fellow; he too was getting married in exactly a year time. We had a really interesting conversation about the variety of cultures around the globe. He had travelled a lot in a previous job as a consultant for a company that some how I know very well. I used to work for them too, what a coincidence, right?
I stayed with Darren when Darryl left to join Miša. “Jestě dvakrat” and we had two more beers. Then David came with the rest of the troupe. It was 9p.m and France was facing a crucial match against Togo. If they cared about moving to the next round, they had to win, no matter how! On the French side, my friends were pretty nervous. Togo strike first. France – Togo: 0-1. “Les Bleus” missed lots of chances in the first half. However Patrick Vieira and Thierry Henry put that right in the second half, which was a big relief for the guys that were glued to the big screen. France – Togo: 2-1 I stopped counting the beers. And in the end we were all so happy that we change to vodkas. After my second one, I had “blackout”. I have a vague clue of what happened next. I remember Darryl and Miša came back. But I wasn’t feeling ok, so we want back home and the result were a nice hangover and my camera gone. I don’t know how, but the only thing I have is an empty case. “To je skoda”, as I had some nice photos on it. Shame on me!
So Saturday happened to be a hard day for me. We didn’t do anything especial at all, except going to the supermarket. In the evening we had dinner with Morvan in a pizzeria in Anděl. Not bad. Later we were joined by Guillaume and the night followed as usual, some drinks in Zero and next the Roxy Club. The music was quite good at the beginning, but we left early. My body still was in “pain” form the previous night.
Today I feel MUCH better! It’s the Red bull Flying contests this afternoon; So we’ll go and see if any of those wicked machines manages to fly. Unfortunately I won’t be able to take any photos… shame on me!
Ahhh and one more thing. The most beautiful thing happened last night. At midnight, my dearest friend Elena gave birth to Elisa. Both are doing great and I’m very happy for them. The father too, his doing fine. Bravo to the three, and welcome Elisa.
